Have you made your immune booster for the coming winter? No, I don`t mean echinacea tincture (although I do have a few jars in the cellar)!
I'm referring to good old sauerkraut and all it`s benefits. Loaded with vitamin C and friendly bacteria for healthy gut flora which promotes a healthy immune system.
A few days ago we went to a friends organic farm and picked their remaining cabbages from their field for our supply of saurkraut. We shredded the cabbage in my Bosch attachment (that's an upgrade from last year!) and used our favorite recipe in my Good and Healthy Cooking cookbook. We love it with the red pepper flakes to add just a bit of 'zip'. (If you still haven't gotten this book I highly recommend it!)
